Although social media has definitely brought out some wacky and interesting movements and posts, it also brought us together and spread positivity in these dark times. There have been some creative trends that have popped up. For instance, there have been trends applauding healthcare workers in order to boost morale and show our appreciation. I have seen plenty of videos of people recording themselves, and even others through windows showing their support. This helps in these times by providing support, even if is digital. Another interesting trend has been people getting married on social media because their wedding date was cancelled. They do so by live-streaming their wedding on Zoom for their loved ones, and making due with their current situation. A plus for this is that you could have more guests than your originally intended! I linked an interesting article interviewing some couples that did so, and their positivity is great! Lastly, another thing that has brought us together during this pandemic has been live-streaming concerts. By doing so, not only are people getting entertained during hard times, but many people have raised money that are going to causes that directly help those in the current pandemic. I think these trends and innovative ideas are great and show the resilience of the human spirit.
